The company introduced Manus 2.0 and Cue, a standalone app that lets users create and deploy personal agents. Manus 2.0 includes Cascade, an updated agent system that used 23.2% fewer tokens, finished tasks in 28.2% less time, and cost 32% less to run than the previous system in one tested configuration. The release also includes Cloud Computer, a dedicated environment for projects that need persistent hosting, and Automations, which allows tasks to be triggered by events in connected services such as email, Slack, or Notion. The company upgraded its desktop app to Manus Studio, adding Video Editor and Game Dev environments. Users can create groups of agents that work together on shared goals, with one agent handing work to another. OpenAI’s [AI agents](https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/best-ai-chatbots/) have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. According to a [report by The Wall Street Journal](https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/openai-agents-used-aggressive-techniques-to-access-u-n-website-522c70ff), OpenAI’s agents swamped a United Nations website with search requests and then used pushy tactics to get at its data in June. ## What exactly did the AI agents do? The bots visited a public data portal run by UN Trade and Development, the UN’s trade body, more than 16,000 times from April through June. Their job seems simple enough: look up information anyone can access. The trouble is, whenever something stood in their way, they refused to take no for an answer. A U.N. Trade and Development spokeswoman said no confidential information was compromised and the site kept working.
